Otto Nemenz International was founded in 1979 by Otto Nemenz. Born in 1941 in Austria, Otto was always a man with a vision. He came to America in 1964 and began working as a cameraman. He eventually moved into the camera rental business, laying the foundation for his iconic rental house Otto Nemenz International. He was an accomplished Director of Photography, and had a degree in engineering from the Vienna Technical Institute in Austria. His career in the film industry spanned over 60 years, and he was instrumental in the advancement of technology in the motion picture industry. He was an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers, a member of the I.A.T.S.E. Local 600, and in 2023 was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

 

Otto believed deeply in service. He was known for offering personalized support, custom solutions, and a level of care and quality that many described as unmatched. Otto’s legacy lives on in every lens he helped design, every camera team he supported, and every story brought to life with the tools he crafted and cared for. His influence will continue to shine through the frames of countless films and through the many people whose lives he touched along the way.
